UMI's top-tier Stage 5 kit, ABF409-1-B, uses double adjustable twin-tube shocks front and rear instead of the monotube or RideTech shocks used elsewhere in this lineup, running on Spherical Bearing/Delrin bushings rather than polyurethane. UMI builds it for classic A-Body platforms spanning several GM divisions from the 1960s and '70s era.
What's in the kit
A solid 1.25" front sway bar is matched to a solid, adjustable 1.00" rear sway bar, and both the control arms and trailing arms are tubular steel finished in black. A chassis stiffener is included; spindles and brake parts are not. UMI's notes list a 450 lbs./in. front spring rate for this kit.
What to check before buying
Because this is UMI's top tier in the handling-kit range, expect a more involved install than the Stage 2 kits, with double adjustable shocks that reward some time spent tuning compression and rebound. Confirm your specific A-Body model and year against UMI's fitment chart before ordering.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
