UK & European Freight Shipping Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026 · DTW Engines Limited
1. Shipping Costs & Delivery Regions
Freight is calculated based on destination region, shipment weight and dimensions. Our logistics network serves:
- United Kingdom: Mainland England, Scotland and Wales (1–3 business days standard transit).
- Western & Northern Europe: Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway (3–5 business days).
- Southern & Central Europe: Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland (4–7 business days).
For orders within Europe, transport fees are clearly itemised prior to checkout. High-value marine propulsion units and crate engines feature inclusive or subsidised pallet transport rates across major European corridors.
2. Heavy Goods & Euro Pallet Packaging
All engines, transmissions, coilovers, wheel sets and bulky body components are securely fastened to heat-treated Euro pallets (ISPM 15 compliant):
- Engine Cradles: Engines are mounted onto reinforced wooden blocks and steel-banded to prevent tipping.
- Weatherproof Wrapping: Double-layer heavy-duty polyethylene shrink film safeguards units against moisture and road grime during transit.
- Fluids Drained: In compliance with European carriage of dangerous goods regulations (ADR), engine oil and gear fluids are drained prior to dispatch.
3. Delivery Options: Commercial Bays & Residential Tail-Lift
We accommodate both commercial workshop facilities and residential private addresses:
- Commercial Workshops / Trade Premises: Suitable for addresses equipped with a forklift truck or loading dock.
- Residential Deliveries (Tail-Lift Service): The carrier operates a tail-lift vehicle with an electric or manual pallet truck to lower the consignment to ground level at kerbside.
4. Consignment Tracking & Delivery Appointment
Upon collection from our hub, you receive an automated dispatch notification with your carrier consignment tracking number. Prior to residential delivery, the freight carrier contacts the recipient via telephone or SMS to arrange an agreeable delivery window.
5. Inspection on Delivery & Transit Insurance
Every consignment travels under comprehensive transit insurance. Upon arrival:
- Inspect the external wrap and banding prior to signing the carrier's electronic proof of delivery (POD).
- If any exterior damage is observed, note "DAMAGED UPON RECEIPT" on the carrier document.
- Notify our European support desk within 48 hours with photographs of the consignment.
6. International Inquiries Outside Europe
