TCI's bolt-in 4-link kit converts a 1948-1952 Ford pickup's rear suspension to a parallel 4-link with coilover shocks, lowering the vehicle 4 inches while aiming to cut body roll and improve handling. The link bars are 1-inch, plain finish, with polyurethane-bushed 3/4-inch stainless adjusters, and the coilovers compress to 10.5 inches and extend to 14.5 inches. Everything that attaches to the factory frame bolts in; welding is only needed on the axle housing itself, where the included axle housing brackets mount.

Before you order
The axle housing itself is not included in this kit, so plan on using your existing housing and have it ready for the welding step, since that is the one part of installation that is not bolt-on. Because this kit lowers the truck 4 inches, confirm that stance works with your tire and wheel plans before ordering.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
