QA1's R156-170 four-link conversion swaps a leaf-spring rear end for a triangulated setup, using a 170 lbs./in. coilover spring on a single adjustable shock, so there is one dial for damping rather than separate compression and rebound control. The upper trailing arms are double adjustable and the lowers are single adjustable, all finished black powdercoat. QA1 calls for welding on this install.
What to check before buying
Plan for fabrication work rather than an afternoon bolt-in, since the welding QA1 specifies means this is not a simple swap for someone without that capability or a shop lined up. A spanner wrench for the coilover ships with the kit.
What comes with it
The package includes spherical bearing bushings and the trailing arm mount braces, plus mounting hardware for the arms and shocks; a sway bar, watts link, panhard bar, and brake components are not included.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
