Details & Inspection Notes
PSC's SK240 is a hydraulic-assist steering kit rather than a full hydraulic replacement: it keeps a steering box in the loop, modified to work with an added hydraulic cylinder, and bolts to the OEM front axle without welding.
What changes and what stays OEM
The steering box itself is included, built in cast iron with a black finish and modified internally to accept the cylinder assist, so the system keeps more of the stock road feel than a full hydraulic swap. PSC rates this setup as adding 50 percent more turning force, aimed at larger tires up to 42 inches and locked axles rather than at changing how the car drives on pavement.
What's in the kit
Along with the modified steering box, the kit includes the steering pump, a hydraulic cylinder with a 0.75-inch shaft diameter and 6.00 inches of travel, braided steel hoses, steel fittings, and mounting brackets.
Installation
This is a bolt-on kit designed for the OEM front axle, and no welding is called for during installation.
Do I need to weld anything to install this? No, this is designed as a bolt-on kit.
Does this replace my steering box? No, a modified steering box is included and stays in the system.
What's the maximum tire diameter? 42 inches.
Will this work with my stock front axle? Yes, it is designed to work with the OEM front axle.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
