Heidts' Superide II independent front suspension kit, part BX-307-4, is built for classic cars from 1935 and up and uses a Mustang II-style spindle so a front-mounted manual rack and pinion can be used for extra engine clearance.
What comes with the kit
A 3-piece steel crossmember bolts in without welding, carrying tubular upper and lower control arms with threaded alignment adjusters instead of the eccentric type, 2-inch drop spindles, and single-adjustable coilovers with a 500 lbs./in. spring rate in a silver powder coat. Up front, black 4-piston aluminum calipers grip vented 11-inch rotors, pads included; a sway bar isn't part of this kit.
What to check before ordering
Because this kit spans classic cars from 1935 onward rather than one named model, confirm your chassis dimensions and engine bay clearance before ordering, especially if you are fitting a front-mount rack and pinion for the first time. The threaded adjusters are meant to hold alignment settings more securely than older eccentric-style hardware, worth knowing if you have used a different Mustang II kit before.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
