Details & Inspection Notes
This Heidts Mustang II front suspension kit, part PX-105-E-K-3, pairs a steel crossmember and tubular control arms with a front-mounted manual rack and pinion, positioned at the front of the crossmember to leave extra engine clearance, plus a rack extension.
What's included
Braking is an 11-inch disc setup with a cast-iron, single-piston caliper, rotor, pads, bearings, and seals; the spindles sit at stock height rather than dropped, and shocks are the stock type rather than coilovers. Rubber spring cushions and spindle nuts are included to cut down on noise and vibration, along with tie rod ends and all mounting hardware.
What to check before ordering
Like other Heidts Mustang II crossmembers, this one calls for welding during installation rather than a straight bolt-on fit. Because the spindles sit at stock height, this kit keeps a factory-like stance; a lowered front end would need a different spindle or coilover setup, not this kit.
Can I lower my car with this kit? No, it uses stock-height spindles, so ride height stays close to factory.
Does the rack need extra engine clearance? Yes, it mounts at the front of the crossmember and includes a rack extension for that reason.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
