Details & Inspection Notes
The Heidts RC-151 kit is sized for a Ford 9-inch rear end and keeps its scope narrow: adjustable upper and lower trailing arms, mount braces, a single-adjustable coilover shock, and gray/silver coilover springs, riding on black polyurethane bushings.
What this kit leaves out
There's no panhard bar, sway bar, or watts link here for lateral axle control, so if your build needs one of those, source it separately rather than expecting it in the box. The differential housing, third member, axle shafts, and brakes are likewise left out, on the assumption you already have or are sourcing a rear end to bolt this onto.
Bolt-on versus weld-in
Heidts builds this hardware to go in either way, bolted or welded, and leaves that call to the builder based on how much extra reinforcement a given chassis wants. Since the kit is matched to Ford 9-inch housing dimensions rather than one named car, measure your own rear end before ordering.
Does this kit control side-to-side axle movement? Not by itself; without a panhard bar or watts link, add one separately if your car needs lateral control.
Are the trailing arms adjustable? Yes, both the upper and lower trailing arms adjust, along with the coilover shock.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
