Details & Inspection Notes

Part number 350300 converts a 1962-67 Chevy II Nova's solid rear axle from leaf springs to a truck-arm, coilover design, with the steel brackets and crossmember supplied and the coilover shocks and springs left for you to choose and add.

What the kit changes

A chassis brace built from .120 in. wall steel tube locates off the factory leaf-spring mount and ties into front support tubes, stiffening the body enough that G-Comp markets this as standing in for a roll cage. Lateral control comes from a panhard bar whose mount offers three positions, letting you move the roll center as you tune the car. The upper crossmember carries the shock mount holes and welds directly to the chassis, while pass-through tubes molded into the brace carry brake lines and wiring, and a dropped saddle leaves room for the driveshaft.

Fitment and what's left to buy

Expect roughly a 2-inch drop in ride height once coilovers go in, and G-Comp built the geometry to tuck behind either a stock wheel well or a mini-tubbed one. Hardware to mount the truck arms and panhard bar is included, but axle housing, shocks, and coilover springs are not, so budget separately for those; G-Comp caps this setup around 500 hp, and a sway bar isn't part of the base package.

Do I need a roll cage with this kit? No, the chassis brace is built into the design specifically to add stiffness without one.

Will it clear mini-tub bodywork? Yes, the kit is engineered to fit both stock-width wheel wells and mini-tubbed cars.
