Carrying part number M-6006-M50C, this Gen 3 Coyote long block from Ford Performance is new, a 302-cubic-inch DOHC V8 producing 460 horsepower at a 12.0:1 compression ratio, built with a forged crankshaft and lightweight pistons inside an all-aluminum block and heads.
A bare-top long block
This version leaves more of the top end for the builder to choose: there is no intake manifold, throttle body, water pump, flywheel, flexplate, air cleaner, computer, or wiring harness included. What does come assembled is the aluminum cylinder heads, along with the harmonic balancer, timing cover, and valve covers, plus the oil pan.
Who should choose this version
Because so much of the fuel and cooling system is left open, this long block suits builders who already have an intake, water pump, and ignition setup picked out, such as Mustang swap projects, classic Ford restorations, and street builds using a custom EFI or carbureted top end. Ford Performance recommends 91-octane fuel or higher given the compression ratio; this engine ships without street emissions certification, making it an off-road or performance-build engine. Sold individually.
