Displacing 7.0 liters (427 cubic inches), Ford Performance's M-6007-Z2427FFT Windsor long block is new, built on a cast-iron block with Z2-Series aluminum cylinder heads. Torque peaks at 545 lb-ft while horsepower reaches 535, both on a 10.5:1 compression ratio with a hydraulic roller OE-style camshaft.

What's included and what isn't

On this long block, the oil pan, the timing cover, the water pump, the harmonic balancer, and the valve covers all come mounted, but the intake manifold, carburetor or EFI system, throttle body, and distributor are not included, so the builder selects a carbureted or EFI induction setup to match the application. There is no flywheel, flexplate, computer, or wiring harness in the crate either.

Fitment and fuel

With its high-flow Z2-Series heads and large displacement, this Windsor-based small-block targets classic Mustang builds, Cobra replicas, drag racing, and pro-touring cars that already have a drivetrain and ignition plan sorted. Ford Performance recommends 91-octane fuel or higher; this engine is sold without street emissions certification, so plan on an off-road or racing build. Sold individually.
