At 363 cubic inches (6.0L), Ford Performance's M-6007-Z2363RT Boss long block is a new small-block built on a Boss 302-style cast-iron block with four-bolt mains, forged crankshaft, pistons, and connecting rods, and aluminum cylinder heads, rated at 500 HP with a 10.2:1 compression ratio and an internally balanced rotating assembly.

Bare of induction, ready for your setup

Unlike long blocks that ship with an intake already on, this one leaves the induction system off entirely: no intake manifold, carburetor, throttle body, or distributor is included. What you do get is a hydraulic roller camshaft on a one-piece rear main seal, with the harmonic balancer, water pump, timing cover, valve covers, and oil pan all fitted. There is no flywheel, flexplate, air cleaner, spark plugs, or wiring harness in the crate.

Choosing your induction and fuel system

Because the top end is open, this long block works equally well with a carbureted or fuel-injected setup, which makes it a common choice for classic Mustangs, hot rods, and pro-touring builds where the owner already has a preferred intake and ignition combination. Ford Performance calls for 91-octane fuel or better; street emissions certification is not part of this package, so build it as an off-road, restoration, or racing engine. Sold individually.
