Details & Inspection Notes
This version of Detroit Speed's Front Speed Kit 1 (031311DS) builds in spindles alongside the usual coil springs, gas-charged monotube shocks, and tubular control arms, running a smaller hollow sway bar up front at 1.125 inches (28.58 mm) rather than the standard diameter.
What's included
- Spindles, included with this version of the kit
- Gas-charged monotube shocks matched to front coil springs
- Tubular steel control arms, black finish
- A hollow sway bar up front, 1.125 in. (28.58 mm) across
- Delrin bushings
Fitment
Built for classic GM muscle cars as a bolt-on front package; rear coil springs, a rear sway bar, and mounting hardware stay off the parts list here too. Because spindles come with this kit, double-check brake and wheel clearance against the new spindle geometry before ordering, since that geometry shift is what sets this kit apart from the standard package.
What makes this different from the standard Front Speed Kit 1? This version adds spindles and runs a smaller, 1.125-inch sway bar.
Is mounting hardware included? No.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
