Details & Inspection Notes

Competition Engineering's C1445 rear frame rail kit is a 26-inch-wide, Magnum series 4-link rail assembly built to save the fabrication time of laying out ladder bars or a 4-link from scratch. The rails arrive factory-welded as a unit, though installing them into the car still calls for additional welding at the car's own chassis.

What's included

  • 26 in. wide, Magnum series 4-link rear frame rails, steel, natural finish, 0.083 in. material thickness
  • Frame rail sections 2.000 in. wide by 3.000 in. tall
  • Crossmember, 60 in. wide, plus a diagonal link, 0.75 in. diameter
  • Driveshaft safety loop, upper shock crossmember, and upper and lower shock mounts
  • Adjustable coilover shocks and springs, rated at 125 lbs./in., with a 12.00 in. tall, 2.50 in. diameter coil
  • Rod ends

What to plan for

A rear end housing isn't part of this kit, so that stays whatever the car already runs or whatever gets sourced separately. Since welding is required to tie the rails into the chassis, this is a project for a shop or builder set up to weld, not a weekend bolt-on.

Does this include the rear end housing? No, that's sourced separately.

Is this a bolt-in kit? No, additional welding is required to install it.

Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist

  • Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
  • Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
  • Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
  • Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
