Details & Inspection Notes
The Bilstein B16 Series DampTronic Suspension Kit, part 49-255935, is a ride-height-adjustable coilover kit built to work with a factory electronic damping system rather than replace it. The zinc-coated, threaded shock bodies keep the car's original DampTronic controls and active features operating after installation, so a driver who wants an adjustable stance without losing the electronic ride modes has a way to get both.
What's inside the kit
Each kit pairs monotube performance dampers with coil springs matched to the application, tuned together rather than sold as separate parts. Both ends of the car get coil springs and gas-charged monotube shocks; the kit does not add sway bars, control arms, chassis bracing, or brake hardware, so upgrades in those areas are handled on their own. Everything ships together as one kit.
Before you order
Because the dampers are threaded for height adjustment, fitment comes down to matching this kit to a vehicle that already runs a compatible OE electronic suspension; an installer can then set ride height within the thread's range once it's mounted. The design work drew on testing done at the Nurburgring circuit, and the finish is meant to hold up against road grime and moisture over time.
Does this replace my electronic suspension controls? No, it's built to retain the factory active features and controls while swapping in new dampers and matched springs.
Are sway bars or control arms included? No, this kit covers springs and shocks only.
Suspension Setup & Installation Checklist
- Inspect top mounts, damper seals, bushings, and ball joints prior to fitment.
- Set initial spring preload, collar heights, and damper rebound clicks symmetrically left to right.
- Torque all suspension control arm pivot bolts while the vehicle is at resting ride height (loaded suspension).
- Perform a complete 4-wheel laser alignment once ride height has settled to ensure optimal handling and tire wear.
