ATK's HP08C is a remanufactured Ford 302 long block built to Stage 3 spec, delivering 350 hp and roughly 390 lb-ft of torque at a 9.5:1 compression ratio from a handpicked, rebuilt Windsor block fitted with aluminum performance heads and a hydraulic roller cam.
What comes with it
Intake manifold, carburetor, distributor, valve covers, timing cover, harmonic balancer, water pump, and a flexplate all ship installed, along with a Fox-body-style dual-sump oil pan. Left out of the build are the flywheel, air cleaner, onboard computer, and wiring harness, so a manual-transmission install will still need its own flywheel.

- Built around the Ford Windsor 302 family, so it fits classic Mustangs, Broncos, and F-Series trucks sharing that engine family.
- Works with either an automatic or a manual transmission, since the flywheel is the one clutch-side part left for the installer.
- It is a standalone carbureted engine, so no onboard computer or wiring harness is needed to run it.

What fuel does it need? ATK calls for premium fuel at 91 octane or higher to suit this compression ratio.
What oil should I run at first start? Use a zinc-rich break-in oil for the initial 500 miles, then switch over to a high-performance synthetic.
