Details & Inspection Notes
Centered on 1949-54 Chevy-style passenger car spindles, this 46 inch straight axle kit delivers a semi-elliptical gasser front end built around a plain-steel, welded-end tube axle. With flat plate steering arms, the tie rod length for this width comes to 43.5 inches eye-to-eye.
What ships with it
You get a welded tube axle at 0.250 inch wall thickness, a pair of axle pads with U-bolts, nylon-bushed spring shackles measuring 1-3/4 inch, brackets for mounting to the frame, a matched pair of 32 inch six-leaf springs, and the hardware to assemble it all.
Fit notes
The spring pads can be positioned along the axle and welded to suit your frame width, and lengths other than 46 inches, including custom widths, are also offered. This kit does not include spindles, follows the 1949-54 Chevy-style spindle pattern rather than a specific car's own, and is not built for off-road racing.
What tie rod length does 46 inches need? 43.5 inches eye-to-eye with flat plate steering arms.
Can I get a custom width instead? Yes, custom axle widths are available.
