Details & Inspection Notes
The Power Max 826 OAE moves up to two-stage clearing, pairing a 252cc engine with a 26-inch intake so the auger breaks up snow before a separate impeller throws it, which handles deeper or heavier snow better than a single-stage machine. Electric start and triggerless automatic steering are standard.
What makes it different
Automatic steering disengages a wheel on its own as you turn, so you steer the machine without squeezing a steering trigger the way older two-stage machines require. A one-hand interlock system lets you run the controls without needing both hands locked onto levers at once, and the drive uses a friction disc system rather than a gear-based transmission.
Built for repeated heavy use
Instead of shear pins that need replacing after a hard impact, the gears and gearbox here are built heavy-duty to shrug that off, and a patented anti-clogging system from Toro is meant to keep wet, packed snow from jamming the chute. Deep-lug 15-by-5-inch tires and LED headlights round out a machine meant for longer sessions clearing a wider path, and the chute itself is aimed with the quick stick control.
Common questions
Do I need to squeeze a lever to turn? No, the steering is automatic and triggerless.
What happens if the auger hits a hidden obstacle? It's engineered to absorb that impact in the gearing rather than relying on a sacrificial pin.
New condition, with Toro's 3-year consumer warranty.
What colour is it? It comes in the factory red and black finish.
Equipment Commissioning & Pre-Start Checklist
- Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to manufacturer-specified dipstick/sight-glass marks.
- Inspect fuel shut-off valve, air filter element, and hydraulic hose fittings for secure connections.
- Verify all safety pins, locks, hydraulic couplers, and guards are secured before starting.
- Allow a 3–5 minute warm-up period at low idle to circulate lubricants and hydraulic oil prior to applying load.
