Details & Inspection Notes

Here is another 360 cubic-inch small-block Chevy aimed at Sport Mod competition, again at 9.0:1 compression on a seasoned four-bolt-main block with Mahle pistons and a Scat cast crankshaft, though this build pairs the rotating assembly with longer, 6.0-inch bushed I-beam connecting rods.

How it's set up

King XP bearings back cylinder heads built to "EQ" specification, and a solid flat-tappet camshaft works through roller-tip rockers. Induction comes from an Edelbrock 2701 Performer EPS intake, sized to run a Holley 500 CFM 2-barrel 4412 carburetor that is not part of the sale, so plan on sourcing one yourself. HEI ignition and MSD plug wires complete the electrical side, with a Champ-style oil pan underneath.

What to expect before ordering

The shop dynos every build individually, hands you that specific dyno sheet, and sets lash and timing rather than using a blanket spec, breaking in the piston rings on its own dyno program first. IMCA approval applies here as well, so check your own track and class rules, since Sport Mod requirements are not identical from one sanctioning body to the next.

Common questions

How long are the connecting rods? 6.0-inch bushed I-beam rods are used in this build.

Does the carburetor come with it? No, the Holley 500 CFM 2-barrel 4412 it is sized for ships separately.
