Details & Inspection Notes
Chevrolet Performance's ZZ6 is a new, turn-key 350 cubic inch crate engine built with aluminum Fast Burn cylinder heads and LS-style beehive valve springs for stronger high-rpm breathing than earlier ZZ-series engines. Compression is 9.72:1, and output reaches 406 lb-ft of torque alongside 405 horsepower.
What turn-key includes here
This package installs the distributor and balancer at the factory, and also bundles several accessories: the carburetor and starter, a fuel pump, an air-conditioning pump, an alternator, and a single-belt front-end drive kit, considerably more hardware than the lower-cost ZZ6 base engine aimed at builders finishing things themselves.
Bottom end and valvetrain
The block is cast iron with four-bolt mains, paired with a forged steel crankshaft, powdered metal connecting rods, and hypereutectic aluminum pistons, externally balanced. Combustion chambers measure 62cc, the cylinder bore holds at 4.000 inches with a 3.480-inch stroke, and intake duration measures 208 degrees against 221 degrees on the exhaust side. Chevrolet Performance notes the distributor uses a melonized steel gear and must be paired with steel camshafts in long-block and partial-engine builds to avoid damage.
Availability and emissions
This is new, unused stock on a listing marked discontinued, meaning it will not be restocked once sold out. A California title adds a wrinkle too: this engine counts as a swap part under the state's engine-change program rather than a direct OEM substitute. Premium fuel is recommended.
