Details & Inspection Notes
The SP20ESM is a dewatering pump built around the same half-horsepower motor as the SP20E, but with an impeller and casing made from a blended rubber compound instead of cast iron, rated to handle up to 68 gallons per minute of flow, or about 4760 gallons in a full hour of steady pumping.
Rubber compound instead of cast iron
Swapping cast iron for a blended rubber compound on the impeller and casing trades some raw toughness for better resistance to abrasive wear from sand and grit, which can mean a longer working life in muddy or silty water specifically. At 24 pounds, it is also noticeably lighter to haul around a job site than a cast-iron equivalent of similar output.
Flexible discharge, same protection
Unlike a pump limited to one discharge direction, the SP20ESM's 2-inch port adjusts for either side or top discharge, letting you run the hose vertically or horizontally depending on your setup. The same double mechanical seals, housed in a liquid-paraffin-filled chamber, guard against dry-running damage, and a built-in thermal protector shuts the motor down before overheating becomes a problem. A 20-foot uni-body cord keeps the connection watertight.
Can the discharge port be switched from side to top? Yes - this model is built to discharge either vertically or horizontally.
Is it repairable rather than disposable? Yes, it is designed to be completely rebuildable, with every part replaceable.
This pump is new.
Equipment Commissioning & Pre-Start Checklist
- Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to manufacturer-specified dipstick/sight-glass marks.
- Inspect fuel shut-off valve, air filter element, and hydraulic hose fittings for secure connections.
- Verify all safety pins, locks, hydraulic couplers, and guards are secured before starting.
- Allow a 3–5 minute warm-up period at low idle to circulate lubricants and hydraulic oil prior to applying load.
