Details & Inspection Notes
This unit is new, unused stock graded Scratch & Dent Level 1, meaning the grading points to a cosmetic mark rather than mechanical wear of any kind.
The BF250DUCDA's four-stroke V6 is good for 250 horsepower, built on a 30-inch shaft. Honda documents this configuration at 628 lbs. A mechanical cable carries steering input from the console to this motor. Twin-engine rigging is where this counter-rotating gearcase earns its purpose, canceling the pull of a matched standard-rotation partner on the opposite side of the transom. Displacement across the six cylinders here reaches 3583cc, with EFI rather than carburetion.
Before placing your order
Measure before you buy: transom height and this 30-inch shaft need to line up, or the propeller runs at the wrong depth. Running flat out, this motor turns 5300-6300 rpm. Buyers here are usually matching a repower to the boat's rated horsepower rather than rigging new.
Equipment list
Beyond the mirrored lower unit paired with digital shift control, expect charging support and a cooling-passage flush point as standard, with power trim and tilt; the manual rounds things out, with Honda's five-year warranty behind it.
Is it a problem to run this engine alone? No, it performs like any other model in the lineup when run by itself.
What the grading means here
The engine is factory-new; the Level 1 grade refers to a surface mark on the cowling or housing, not anything affecting operation. Ask us about the mark's exact location before ordering if finish matters to you.
