Details & Inspection Notes
GMLS9006 is the raw-finish option in this crate engine line: a new 495 HP GM LS3 long block wearing valve covers styled after a Big Block Chevy in a cast, unpainted finish rather than chrome, left bare instead of sprayed orange, and backed by a two-year warranty.
Why go unpainted
If you'd rather handle paint or finishing in your own shop, or you simply prefer a raw cast look, this version skips the cosmetic work while keeping the same long block and control electronics as the painted, chrome option. Confirm with us whether the surfaces arrive primed or bare metal before planning your own paint schedule.
What's fitted underneath
An oxygen sensor and transmission control come wired into the Holley Terminator engine management here, feeding a setup that also carries a water pump, thermostat housing, and balancer built to Corvette specification, plus exhaust manifolds designed for high-performance rear-dump routing. Automatic-transmission builders get a 14-inch flexplate, and the matching 14-inch Classic Intake Kit ships unpainted to go with the cast-finish covers; its valley plate includes a machined-finish oil fill tube.
Fitting it in
Like the rest of this line, it suits hot rods, restomods, and pro-touring projects equally well, since the unpainted finish only changes appearance, not the LS3's output or included electronics.
Common questions
Does it come with any paint on the block? No, this version ships unpainted with cast-finish valve covers rather than the painted-orange, chrome option.
What warranty is included? A two-year warranty, same as the rest of this engine line.
