Details & Inspection Notes
The ST224P folds trigger-mounted power steering and heated handgrips into the same 24-inch, 208cc LCT, friction-disc base as the rest of the ST224 lineup, so instead of adding either feature separately, both arrive already built in.
Two comfort features, one package
Handling a 24-inch two-stage machine gets noticeably easier with trigger steering, since each grip pivots its side of the housing independently rather than requiring you to muscle the whole unit around at the end of a row. Heated handgrips address the other common complaint with winter work - cold fingers - by warming the grips themselves rather than just your gloves.
Running it
The friction-disc transmission keeps the same stepped speed positions familiar from other machines in this family, electric start skips the pull-cord entirely, and a .71-gallon fuel tank supports a longer two-stage run than you would get from a smaller tank. One lever still controls both the chute's throw direction and the deflector angle, so aiming takes a single adjustment rather than two separate ones made at different points on the housing.
LED visibility
LED headlights are standard as well, useful for clearing a driveway before sunrise on a work morning or finishing up after dark once the storm has passed.
Are heated handgrips included on this model? Yes, standard on the ST224P, unlike the base ST224 power-steering configuration where they are sold separately.
What size path does the ST224P clear? 24 inches.
New, model 961930122, with Husqvarna's 3-year consumer warranty.
What colour is it? It comes in the factory orange and black finish.
