Details & Inspection Notes
Husqvarna's ST151 clears snow in one motion rather than two: a single-stage machine where the auger itself contacts the ground and throws as it spins, built around a 208cc Husqvarna LCT engine and a 21-inch intake. That single-stage design keeps the whole unit lighter and simpler than a two-stage blower, which matters on paved walkways, steps, and shorter driveways where maneuverability counts for more than raw volume.
Where single-stage clearing fits
Because the rubber-edged auger rides against the surface, this kind of machine is suited to pavement, concrete, and other smooth, hard surfaces rather than gravel or loose stone, which a spinning auger can pick up and throw along with the snow. Semi-pneumatic tires with a snow tread give it grip on packed snow without needing separate tire chains, and the 21-inch intake is wide enough for most residential walks and single-car driveways without feeling unwieldy to push.
Running it through a storm
Electric start takes the cold-weather guesswork out of getting going, since there is no recoil cord to pull with stiff hands. A .37-gallon fuel tank keeps the machine light at the wheels, matched to the shorter run times a 21-inch single-stage unit is built around. Snow direction comes from a manual remote control mounted right at the handlebar, so you are not leaning forward over the housing to redirect the throw, and LED headlights mean an early shift before sunrise is not a problem.
Will this work well on a gravel driveway? Single-stage augers run close to the ground, so paved and concrete surfaces are a better match than gravel.
How is the chute aimed? Through a manual remote control within easy reach of the handlebar.
This ST151 is new, model 961830004, backed by Husqvarna's 3-year consumer warranty.
What colour is it? It comes in a factory dark grey finish with orange accents.
