Details & Inspection Notes
The BFP60A1XRT carries the same Power Thrust gear case and 998cc, three-cylinder block as Honda's Power Thrust 60 range, mounted on a longer shaft than the shortest option in that lineup, at a listed dry weight of 270 pounds. New.
Why shaft length matters on this version
Both Power Thrust 60s on the market share the same 998cc three-cylinder block and the same larger, pontoon-ready gear case; what sets this XRT apart is a longer shaft, suited to a higher transom than the shorter-shaft listing in this same Power Thrust range. Measure the boat before choosing between the two rather than assuming either will fit.
What Power Thrust adds
Steering swings 50 degrees to port and starboard here, noticeably wider than the roughly 35 degrees typical of competing outboards, which pays off when backing into a tight marina slip. Lean Burn Control, BLAST, and programmable fuel injection all carry over too, and this three-cylinder block still tops out around 5000-6000 rpm at full throttle.
Before you buy
This gear case and its larger propeller are built for the job, so match the hull to this Power Thrust setup rather than a standard BF60; the two aren't interchangeable in weight or gearing. A console and cable steering hardware need to already be rigged in, since this motor runs remote mechanical steering, and electric start is standard here.
What comes with it
A printed owner's manual ships with this Power Thrust engine as well. Charging and a freshwater flush fitting come built in, with power trim and tilt available at the helm for running-angle changes. A five-year factory warranty applies.
