Details & Inspection Notes
This BF225DUCRA WT pairs a 30-inch shaft with 225 horsepower from Honda's V6 four-stroke platform. Listed weight comes to 628 lbs. This motor steers through a mechanical cable run to the helm, not a tiller handle. This unit carries a white cowling finish, a cosmetic choice that leaves the mechanical specification unchanged. The counter-rotating lower unit is built to pair against a standard-rotation partner on the far side of a twin install; mixing two counter-rotating units together reproduces the same handling trouble in reverse. The block displaces 3583cc over six cylinders, with EFI handling fuel delivery instead of a carburetor.
Before placing an order
Before placing an order, check the 30-inch shaft against your own transom; too short or too long changes how the propeller sits in the water. Wide open, this motor spins 5000-6000 rpm. Most orders at this output are repowers, where the old motor's mounting and rigging get reused rather than redone.
Equipment included
Beyond the counter-rotating lower unit, you get a charging circuit, a cooling-flush fitting, and electrically driven trim and tilt, and Honda throws in the manual plus a 5-year warranty term. A propeller is not part of this package.
What's the point of counter-rotation if I'm not twinning? None, really; it only pays off once paired with a standard-rotation partner on a twin transom.
Does the finish change anything mechanically? No, apart from the cowling color this unit matches the standard-color BF225DUCRA.
