Starting and steering

Having both electric and manual starting backs up the push-button starter with a pull cord as a fallback, which is useful if the battery runs low away from the dock. Steering is handled at the tiller, and the shaft measures 20 inches, so match that length to your transom before ordering this unit. There is no remote steering cable to route on this configuration, which keeps the install simpler on a small boat with limited console space.
