Details & Inspection Notes

This Hobby Stock Chevy 360 is a new, IMCA-legal dirt track crate engine built on a seasoned, stock 4-bolt-main cast iron block at 360 cubic inches, estimated at 360-375 HP and 400-plus ft-lbs of torque on a 9.0:1 compression ratio, sold without a warranty since it is built strictly for racing.

What's built into it

Inside is a cast iron Scat crankshaft, forged 5140 steel connecting rods, hypereutectic aluminum pistons (with a Mahle upgrade available), and King XP bearings, topped with cast iron EQ-spec cylinder heads and a solid flat-tappet camshaft with a 2.00 inch intake and 1.55 inch exhaust valve. An Edelbrock Performer EPS 2701 dual-plane intake sits on top, with the HEI distributor, spark plug wires, Champ-style racing oil pan, water pump, and harmonic balancer also installed, along with roller tip rockers and a 2-piece rear main seal.

Before you race it

A carburetor is not part of the package; it's designed around a Rochester carburetor that you supply separately, and race gas is recommended to match the 9.0:1 compression. Every engine is dyno tested and tuned before it ships, with lash and timing set and a dyno sheet included, and the pistons are broken in on a dyno program rather than at the track. Check your track's rules before ordering, since this engine is built for Hobby Stock and similar sanctioned classes, not street use.

Common questions

Is this street legal? No, it's designed strictly for racing applications.

Does it come with a carburetor? No, it's set up for a Rochester carburetor that isn't included.

Is there a warranty? No, this racing engine is sold without one.
