Details & Inspection Notes
A track undercarriage replaces wheels on the 2X 26 TRAC, aimed at steadier footing when snow turns deep or the surface glazes over with ice. A 272cc OHV engine turns a 26-inch clearing width underneath it.
Why tracks instead of wheels
Spreading the machine's weight over a longer track footprint, instead of two tire contact patches, is what helps on slopes or snow deep enough that wheels would otherwise spin. Steering triggers at the handles turn the tracks independently, and power from the friction disc lands in a heavy-duty cast-aluminum gear box built to handle that load.
Comfort in a long session
An overhead crank aims the chute, heated handgrips keep hands working through a cold morning, and an LED lightbar joins the dual headlights for low-light visibility. Electric start is standard.
Turning radius to expect
Tracked machines generally take a wider turning radius to maneuver in a tight turnaround than a wheeled machine does, which is worth factoring in for a short, boxed-in driveway with tight corners rather than a long, open run.
Why tracks instead of tires? Steadier footing and grip in heavy snow and ice than a wheeled machine offers.
Does it have a lightbar in addition to headlights? Yes, an LED lightbar is paired with dual headlights for extra visibility in the dark.
Tank, model, coverage? .75 gallons, model 31AH7FVM710, 3-year consumer warranty, new.
