This ZZ6 swaps carbureted induction for factory electronic fuel injection, a 5.7-liter, 350-cubic-inch small-block making 405 hp with 406 lb-ft of torque behind it. Chevrolet Performance built it around aluminum cylinder heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft at a 9.27:1 compression ratio, aimed at classic Chevy swaps that want EFI drivability without giving up the small-block's familiar architecture.
What arrives ready to run
Computer, wiring harness, throttle body, intake manifold, and distributor all ship installed, along with the oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, a long-style water pump, harmonic balancer, and flexplate. That combination of computer and harness is what makes this a true plug-and-play EFI unit rather than one that needs a separate standalone controller sourced and wired in.
Fitment and what to add
The included flexplate suits automatic transmissions; a manual gearbox will need its own flywheel, which is not included, along with an air cleaner and spark plug wires. This engine carries no emissions certification, so plan on off-road, classic-restoration, or closed-course use rather than street registration, and check local rules before building a vehicle around it. Premium 91-octane-or-higher fuel is recommended.
Q: Does it need a separate ECU purchased elsewhere? No, the computer and wiring harness ship with the engine for EFI operation.
Q: Will this work with a manual transmission? You will need to add a flywheel, since the included flexplate is for automatics.
