Details & Inspection Notes
Chevrolet Performance's SP350/357 Deluxe (part 19420882) starts from the value-driven 350 HO foundation, then swaps in a hydraulic roller camshaft and a newer small-block intake manifold design, producing 357 horsepower and 407 ft-lbs of torque at a 9.0:1 compression ratio.
What makes it a "Deluxe" package
The Deluxe designation covers the intake, the distributor, a damper, and a flexplate, all fitted before it ships, along with the carburetor, valve covers, spark plugs and wires, and an air cleaner. The one notable gap is the starter, so budget for that separately. Maximum recommended engine speed is 5,600 rpm.
Bottom end and heads
Four-bolt mains surround a nodular iron crankshaft and powdered metal connecting rods, with cast aluminum pistons completing the rotating assembly, externally balanced. Vortec iron cylinder heads use 1.94-inch intake valves and 1.5-inch exhaust valves with stamped steel rocker arms at a 1.5:1 ratio, and intake duration measures 215 degrees against 223 degrees on the exhaust side. Bore and stroke are 4.000 inches by 3.480 inches, with 64cc combustion chambers.
Coverage and installation note
Chevrolet Performance backs this crate engine with a 24-month or 50,000-mile limited warranty, and the starter is the only major item you will need to add yourself. One more thing to flag if your vehicle is California-titled: an engine swap like this falls under the state's engine-change program rather than a straightforward OEM part replacement.
