Details & Inspection Notes

This new Chevrolet Performance CPP LT1 (part 19329997) is a Gen V, 6.2L long block with direct fuel injection, an aluminum block and heads, and an 11.5:1 compression ratio, built for restomod and pro-touring projects that want modern LT-series efficiency in a classic chassis.

What direct injection changes about this build

Unlike the carbureted or port-injected engines elsewhere in this lineup, this LT1 ships with the intake manifold and throttle body already installed to support its direct-injection fuel system, along with spark plugs, spark plug wires, the water pump, oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, and a flexplate. Four items stay off the engine: the harmonic balancer, flywheel, air cleaner, and wiring harness, since those need to be matched to your specific installation.

What this engine needs to run

Because it uses direct injection rather than a carburetor, this LT1 requires a compatible high-pressure fuel system and ECU or PCM to operate; it is not a bolt-and-go carbureted swap. The hydraulic roller camshaft and internally balanced rotating assembly are tuned around premium fuel at 91 octane or higher given the 11.5:1 compression ratio.

Common questions

Can I install this in a classic Camaro or Corvette? Yes, provided you plan for the fuel system and electronics this engine needs. What displacement is it? 376 cubic inches, the same Gen V architecture GM uses across its current LT-series lineup.
