Details & Inspection Notes
This new 602 Sealed Circle Track engine from Chevrolet Performance is a factory-sealed, spec-class racing build rated at 350 HP at 5,000 rpm and 390 ft-lbs of torque at 3,800 rpm, derived from Superflow dyno testing using a 4-barrel, 650 cfm Holley carburetor. It arrives as a complete intake-to-pan assembly rather than a bare long block.
Built for spec-class racing
Sealed crate rules keep competitors on equal footing, which is why this family has remained a fixture across several grassroots oval-track divisions for trucks and sport-modified cars alike. The dual-pattern camshaft pulls more than 300 lb-ft of torque across a wide 2,000 to 5,500 rpm band, and compression is 9.1:1 with iron Vortec cylinder heads.
What is on the engine
A four-bolt main block carries a forged steel crankshaft, and the engine comes complete with an HEI distributor, a high-rise dual-plane aluminum intake manifold, an 8-inch harmonic balancer, a steel valve cover with the Chevy Bowtie logo and breathers, a front timing cover, and an 8 1/2-inch-deep circle track oil pan holding 8 quarts, including the oil pump and pickup. A flywheel and water pump are not included. As delivered, the engine weighs 434 lbs.
Before you race it
Chevrolet Performance's crate engine warranty does not extend to engines used for racing, stunt driving, performance testing, or other extreme operating conditions, so treat this as a purpose-built racing block rather than a street engine with warranty backing. Start-up, break-in, and valve adjustment procedures ship with the engine.
