Details & Inspection Notes

Swap the carburetor for an EFI throttle-body system and you get this listing: the same big-inch small-block from BluePrint's catalog, 485 horsepower, 500 pound-feet, 10.4:1 compression, with a FAST EZ-EFI system up front instead.

What changes with EFI

The self-tuning FAST EZ-EFI unit mounts on an aluminum intake, fired through a distributor, taking the place of the carbureted sibling build's induction setup entirely. Cam lift here specs out at .510 inch on the intake side and .520 inch on the exhaust side, with duration unchanged at 230 degrees intake and 236 degrees exhaust at .050 inch of lift.

Rotating assembly and heads

Forged steel makes up the crankshaft and the connecting rods, matched to forged pistons and balanced as an assembly, running on a Melling high-volume oil pump and a heavy-duty, double-roller timing set. Hastings supplies the moly rings. The performance aluminum heads carry 2.02-inch and 1.60-inch, swirl-polished valves with hardened retainers and springs, under part number HP8103. An oil pan and a timing cover close out the bottom, valve covers cap the heads, brass freeze plugs are fitted, and dyno sheets ship with the engine from BluePrint's own test stand. Coverage terms aren't stated for this build either, so confirm with us before you order one.

Is this engine new? Yes, it's built from new parts rather than a reconditioned core, and every unit gets its own dyno pull before leaving BluePrint.

Startup & Installation Checklist

  • Inspect all external gaskets, seals, spark plugs and timing components prior to installation.
  • Refill engine oil, transmission gear oil and coolant to manufacturer-specified capacities before initial cranking.
  • Prime the lubrication system and verify ECU wiring pinouts, sensors, and ground connections.
  • Startup warranty covers internal lubricated components, cylinder heads, and engine block for 30 days from delivery.
