Details & Inspection Notes

Where the Dressed 383 above stops at a carburetor and a standard distributor, this Ready To Run build goes a step further: 436 horsepower, 443 pound-feet, 10.0:1 compression, unchanged, now wearing a self-contained HEI distributor and its own fuel pump, leaving less plumbing for the builder to add before start-up.

What comes installed

Mounted parts include the valve covers, a harmonic balancer, spark plugs, plug wires, a long-style water pump, and a fuel pump. The aluminum intake carries a Holley 3310, a 750-cfm carburetor with a manual choke, fired through the HEI setup. Brass freeze plugs and a painted oil pan round out the dress, and a timing cover is already in place. Inside, hypereutectic pistons turn on a cast steel crankshaft under aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller cam, and BluePrint tests every engine on a dyno before it ships, with results included in the box.

Clearance to check

BluePrint's fit note here matches its other EFI and carbureted dressed 383s: budget on calling ahead for special build options, since the induction setup is tall enough that a stock Corvette hood won't close over it. The engine isn't intended for use in pollution-controlled vehicles. BluePrint's documentation for this build covers 30 months or 50,000 miles.

Is a fuel pump included? Yes, unlike the bare longblock listing, this Ready To Run version already has one mounted and ready to plumb into your fuel system.
