Details & Inspection Notes
This BluePrint 383 is a dressed, EFI-equipped small block that ships with its own self-learning multi-port fuel injection and ECU rather than requiring a separate standalone system. Dyno figures put it at 436 horsepower, running a 10.0:1 compression ratio with aluminum heads and a cast steel crankshaft over hypereutectic pistons.
Who this suits
BluePrint designed the control system here for straightforward startup: the ECU handles ignition timing and fueling through three wiring connections, to the main battery, a switched 12-volt ignition source, and the fuel pump, which suits a builder who wants EFI without wiring in a separate aftermarket engine management system.
What comes with it
The long block includes a polished chrome air cleaner, a distributor, a harmonic balancer, a single-plane machined aluminum intake manifold, polished chrome valve covers, an oil pan, a timing cover, and spark plugs and wires.
What to check before ordering
Confirm whether a water pump and front accessory drive are included with us before ordering, and plan separately for alternator, power steering, and A/C mounting if your chassis needs them. This part is meant for engine changes rather than stock replacement, and California buyers should check their installation against Bureau of Automotive Repairs policy.
Common questions
Is there a carburetor on this build? No — BluePrint's multi-port EFI and self-learning ECU handle fuel instead.
Is the distributor included? Yes, along with the harmonic balancer and valve covers.
How is ignition timing controlled? By the BluePrint ECU, which is computer-controlled rather than manually set.
