Details & Inspection Notes
Dressed further than the bare longblock above, this 383 keeps the same output, 436 horsepower, 443 pound-feet, on 10.0:1 compression, but adds a carburetor, an intake manifold, and a distributor already mounted, so the engine is closer to bolt-in ready out of the crate.
What's bolted on
A dual-plane, satin aluminum intake manifold carries a Holley 750-cfm carburetor with a manual choke. A distributor, a chrome-finished timing cover, and chrome valve covers are installed, along with a painted oil pan and a Melling high-volume oil pump. The cylinder heads use swirl-polished intake and exhaust valves with hardened retainers and springs over 64cc chambers, sitting above the hydraulic roller camshaft, cast steel crankshaft, and hypereutectic pistons BluePrint uses through its 383 lineup. Every engine ships with its own dyno results documenting the power curve.
Fit and legal notes
The block itself is new BluePrint cast iron with four bolts per main cap and a one-piece rear seal, built and machined in the USA with provision for a mechanical fuel pump. Coverage on this one runs for 30 months or 50,000 miles. California buyers installing this in a vehicle should work through the Bureau of Automotive Repairs' engine-change requirements rather than treating it like a direct OEM swap.
What's not included? This listing doesn't mention a fuel pump, air cleaner, or wiring harness, so plan for those separately before firing it up.
