Details & Inspection Notes

ATK's HP32C is a complete, ready-to-run Chevy 350 Vortec build at 350 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, the strongest of ATK's non-stroker 350 Vortec lineup, running hypereutectic pistons at 9.5:1 compression under Vortec heads opening to 1.94/1.50.

What this tier adds

Little is left to finish here: the distributor, water pump, balancer, and intake are already mounted, the flexplate or flywheel ships too, and the carburetor is bolted straight to that intake. A hydraulic roller cam and double-roller timing chain round out the valvetrain.

What to check before you buy

  • The vacuum-secondary carburetor and electric choke are already on the engine, matched to the included dual-plane intake.
  • Oil pump is standard-volume Melling, paired with a rear-sump oil pan.
  • Recommended break-in is conventional 10W30 oil, with timing set to 34-36 degrees.

Common questions

Is the carburetor installed? Yes, this build's vacuum-secondary carburetor with electric choke comes already installed.

What octane does it need? ATK recommends fuel at 91 octane or higher.

What valve sizing do the heads use? The Vortec castings here carry 1.94/1.50 valves, the same sizing ATK uses across its Vortec 350 lineup.

What's the compression ratio? 9.5:1, the strongest of ATK's non-stroker 350 Vortec builds. California requires BAR compliance for engine swap installations.
