Details & Inspection Notes
This 36-inch two-stage machine routes its power through hydrostatic drive, fed by a 420cc engine built with EZ-Launch EFI fuel injection in place of a carburetor. Ariens frames the pairing as easier starting with less carburetor fiddling across a winter's worth of temperature swings.
Why width this large pairs with hydrostatic drive
A 36-inch deck is heavy to swing around on fixed gear ratios, so stepless hydrostatic speed adjustment is used here instead of a simpler transmission. A cast iron case shields the gears beneath the unit, and Auto-Turn's triggerless design keeps that width from fighting you at the end of a row.
Comfort for long runs
Heated handgrips, a halogen headlight, and quick-turn chute rotation support the longer sessions a 36-inch path implies, and electric start backs up the EFI engine on cold mornings.
Width to plan storage around
This is the widest deck covered in this range, so measure the garage door or shed opening it will pass through for storage, not just the driveway it will be clearing. A wide two-stage machine also takes a bit more room to turn around at the end of a row than a narrower one does.
What does the EFI engine change? Starting is designed to be easier and steadier across temperatures than a carbureted engine.
Tank, model, coverage? .75 gallons, model 926070, 3-year consumer warranty, new.
Colour and intake height? It comes in the factory orange and black finish, and the intake opening is 23.5 inches tall.
Equipment Commissioning & Pre-Start Checklist
- Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to manufacturer-specified dipstick/sight-glass marks.
- Inspect fuel shut-off valve, air filter element, and hydraulic hose fittings for secure connections.
- Verify all safety pins, locks, hydraulic couplers, and guards are secured before starting.
- Allow a 3–5 minute warm-up period at low idle to circulate lubricants and hydraulic oil prior to applying load.
