Details & Inspection Notes
A 420cc engine with EZ-Launch EFI fuel injection drives this 28-inch two-stage machine, routed through hydrostatic drive rather than a fixed-gear transmission. Fuel injection is built to start easily without the choke adjustments a carbureted engine needs as temperatures swing through a winter.
Why hydrostatic drive suits this engine
Hydrostatic drive gives stepless speed control instead of fixed gear notches, useful when snow depth changes from one stretch of a driveway to the next. Auto-Turn triggerless steering handles direction, and a cast iron case protects the gears feeding that drivetrain.
Comfort and visibility
Heated handgrips and a halogen headlight are included, and the chute's quick-turn control lets discharge direction change without leaving the handles. Electric start backs up the EFI engine's easy-starting design for cold mornings.
Fuel care for an EFI engine
Fuel-injected small engines still need fresh fuel each season rather than gas left over from the prior winter; running old fuel through the injection system is a common cause of hard starts on any EFI machine, not just this one. A snow blower that sits idle for months between storms benefits from running the tank down or treating leftover fuel before it sits through a long summer.
What does EFI change day to day? Starting is simpler and more consistent across temperatures than with a carbureted engine, with less fiddling at the choke.
Tank, model, coverage? .75 gallons, model 926068, 3-year consumer warranty, sold new.
Colour and intake height? It comes in the factory orange and black finish, and the intake opening is 23.5 inches tall.
Equipment Commissioning & Pre-Start Checklist
- Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to manufacturer-specified dipstick/sight-glass marks.
- Inspect fuel shut-off valve, air filter element, and hydraulic hose fittings for secure connections.
- Verify all safety pins, locks, hydraulic couplers, and guards are secured before starting.
- Allow a 3–5 minute warm-up period at low idle to circulate lubricants and hydraulic oil prior to applying load.
