Details & Inspection Notes
The Ariens Deluxe (28") pairs the same 254cc engine and Auto-Turn steering used on Ariens' narrower Deluxe model with a wider, 28-inch clearing path, aimed at larger driveways where fewer passes matter more than tight-space maneuvering.
Wider path, same core engine
Ariens rates this model to throw snow up to 50 feet, so the main trade-off against a narrower two-stage machine is how much ground each pass covers versus how tight a space the unit can work in. A larger impeller behind the wider intake is what lets the 254cc engine clear the extra width.
Steering and handling
Auto-Turn triggerless steering gives this model a zero-degree turning radius despite the wider deck, useful when you still need to maneuver around a mailbox or parked car at the edge of a long driveway. Like the rest of the Deluxe line, propulsion comes from the Disc-O-Matic system, and the gear case is cast iron.
Fuel tank size? .66 gallons.
Does it have a headlight? Yes, an LED headlight.
Warranty? Three years, consumer coverage; model number 921046.
Choose this over a narrower Deluxe when driveway length matters more than tight turning room, since the throw rating and drive system stay the same across both widths. A longer driveway or one shared with a wide walkway is where the extra four inches of intake pays off most in fewer total passes.
Colour and intake height? It comes in the factory orange and black finish, and the intake opening is 21 inches tall.
Equipment Commissioning & Pre-Start Checklist
- Check engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels to manufacturer-specified dipstick/sight-glass marks.
- Inspect fuel shut-off valve, air filter element, and hydraulic hose fittings for secure connections.
- Verify all safety pins, locks, hydraulic couplers, and guards are secured before starting.
- Allow a 3–5 minute warm-up period at low idle to circulate lubricants and hydraulic oil prior to applying load.
