The Torqeedo Ultralight 1103 AC is a direct-drive electric motor built specifically for kayaks and canoes, steered through its own angler mount rather than a tiller or remote system, on a 20-inch kayak shaft, with electric start and a 915 Wh lithium battery included. Rated as a 3 hp equivalent, its all-up weight with battery is 34 lbs.

Built around the angler mount

Rather than conventional steering, this motor integrates with a kayak's existing steering setup through a dedicated angler mount with a tilt-and-park mechanism, and adds solar charging capability for extending time on the water beyond what the included battery alone provides. Torqeedo rates it as almost three times more powerful than its own Ultralight 403, with sturdier construction and quicker throttle response built in.

Fit for popular hulls

The compact size is built to fit popular kayak and canoe hull types without major modification, which matters for anglers moving the motor between different boats rather than keeping it on one hull permanently.

Weight, range, and what is included

The 34 lbs splits into a 21 lb motor and a 13 lb battery, and that battery runs up to 50 km, about 31 miles, integrating GPS with a USB connection, paired with an electronic throttle and an onboard display. A charger, emergency magnetic kill switch, and propeller ship with the motor.
