Details & Inspection Notes
The TUKT12021 is TREMEC's T56 Magnum XL built specifically for 2005-and-later Ford Mustang Modular V8 cars, including Coyote and Godzilla engine swaps, Boss 302 builds, and restomod or pro-touring Mustangs used for street driving, road racing, drag racing, or autocross. First gear sits at 2.97, and torque capacity reaches 700 lb-ft; the Magnum's two overdrive steps continue here too, 0.80 then 0.63 through fifth and sixth.
Why the shifter feels factory
An extended XL tail housing puts the shifter back in the stock Mustang location rather than the semi-remote setup used on many late-model factory transmissions, paired with a direct-mount, short-throw shifter for crisper gear changes. Clutch release is hydraulic, with second stepping to 2.10 and third to 1.46 before reverse settles at 2.90, and shift quality holding together up to 7,800 rpm.
What ships in the box
Unlike some other T56 Magnum versions, this one includes an SFI-approved steel bellhousing, a Mustang-specific crossmember and transmission mount, the shifter and shift ball, and reverse lockout components, so most of the mounting hardware is already accounted for. 26 splines in, 31 splines out, taking about 3.66 quarts of fluid; a driveshaft and slip yoke are not included.
Does this come with the bellhousing already installed? It ships with an SFI-approved steel bellhousing, crossmember, and transmission mount included, rather than requiring you to source them separately.
What is the warranty term? TREMEC provides one year of coverage against manufacturing defects, separate from any issue caused by installation.
