Details & Inspection Notes
The TUET11010 is TREMEC's T56 Magnum sized for Ford's Modular V8 and Coyote engine family, built for rear-wheel-drive cars rather than trucks or GM applications, and aimed at Mustang GT and Cobra builds, Coyote swap projects, restomod Mustangs, and dedicated drag, road-race, and autocross cars. First gear sits at 2.66, and torque capacity reaches 700 lb-ft at speeds up to 7,800 rpm; the Magnum's familiar double overdrive carries over too, 0.80 for fifth and 0.63 for sixth.
What is unique to the Ford version
This Ford-pattern Magnum uses a mechanical clutch release rather than the hydraulic setup on TREMEC's GM LS version, and ships with a reverse lockout solenoid and reverse light switch built into the internal shift mechanism. OEM-style synchronizers and short, positive shift throws aim to keep the shift feel familiar to Mustang drivers while adding the Magnum's added strength.
Shaft sizes and fluid
Dry weight runs about 135 lbs, and the input turns on 26 splines while the output spins 31, taking about 3.6 quarts of TREMEC HP-MTF or Dexron III ATF. A bellhousing, shifter, and slip yoke are not included, though the front bearing retainer, reverse lockout solenoid, and internal shift mechanism ship with the case.
Is the clutch release hydraulic? No, this Ford-pattern Magnum uses a mechanical clutch release, unlike TREMEC's GM LS version of the same transmission.
What warranty does TREMEC provide? A one-year warranty applies, limited to manufacturing flaws rather than issues from installation.
