Three Chrome 9 Super 7® Carbs to 4-Bbl Intake Manifold Adapter Kit

Three 9 Super 7 carburetors, an adapter, air cleaners, a progressive linkage kit, a fuel block, fittings and red fuel line come together in this kit to turn a standard 4-barrel intake into a tri-power setup. Assembly is required once it arrives.

What to check before buying

An HEI distributor won't clear this setup, so plan on running a small-diameter-based distributor instead. None of the three carburetors carry a vacuum port, so a vacuum source may need to come from a tap in the manifold itself. A 4-barrel carburetor base gasket ships in the box, but the gasket between the intake and the adapter does not.

Dimensions

Stacked height, air cleaner tops down to the adapter's base, runs 11-7/16 in. Where the adapter meets the manifold it spans 4 in. by 13-11/16 in., and the adapter body itself stands 2-3/16 in. without gaskets. Bolt patterns are 5-1/8 in. by 5-5/8 in. on the 4-barrel side and 3-1/4 in. by 1-7/8 in. on the 2-barrel side.

How the carburetors are configured

Only the middle carburetor is primary; the two flanking it are secondaries, and idle is handled entirely through that center carb. Jetting on the primary matches a stock 97-style unit: .045 in. main jets and a number 65 power valve. Fuel pressure should sit between 1-1/2 and 4 psi, aimed at 2-1/2 to 3 psi, since anything past 4 psi risks flooding. A Uni-Syn tool makes dialing in the sync across all three straightforward.
