Details & Inspection Notes

Rated for 750 advertised horsepower, this remanufactured three-speed runs a forward shift pattern rather than the reverse pattern used on some other Chevy-bellhousing competition automatics nearby, with a full manual valve body and no trans-brake, aimed at racers running a separate launch control method.

Build specifics

Thirty splines handle the input shaft, feeding a 6.000-inch tailshaft, with first gear landing at 2.52:1. Black is the finish on the aluminum case, and the pan is stock-profile steel finished in chrome, a different combination than the aluminum pans used elsewhere in this competition range. Output runs through a slip-on yoke, and the unit is not lockup compatible.

What's left for you to source

None of the usual extras come along here: skip past converter, flexplate, controller, and harness on the included list, and plan for a cooler, fluid, and a dipstick on top of that. A speedometer driven gear and housing are missing too. If you're replacing an identical model, those parts may carry over from your old unit; if not, they need to be bought separately. Sold individually.

Does the forward pattern change how I drive it? It changes the shift lever direction for each gear, so confirm it suits your linkage or valve body preference. Is a trans-brake included? No, this is a straight manual-valve-body unit without one.
