Details & Inspection Notes

A remanufactured three-speed drilled to the Mopar bellhousing pattern, this competition unit ships with a trans-brake already installed and runs a full manual valve body for racers who want to control every shift themselves rather than relying on automatic shift points.

Driveline details

First gear comes in at 2.45:1, the input shaft carries 24 splines, and the tailshaft stretches to 18.375 inches. The case is OEM-style aluminum, the pan is a stock-profile piece, and output goes through a slip-on yoke. This unit is not lockup compatible, which is typical for a trans-brake-equipped manual valve body setup built for consistent launches rather than cruising.

What to source separately

A converter, flexplate, controller, and harness are each a separate purchase here, and so are the cooler, fluid, and dipstick, since none of them ship in the crate. The speedometer driven gear and housing don't come along either, though a matching old transmission's set usually transfers over on a like-for-like swap, or you can order a replacement pair instead. Sold individually, built and tested before it leaves the shop, and remanufactured rather than assembled from new castings.

Is a trans-brake already installed? Yes, and that's part of why this unit isn't lockup compatible. What spline count does the input use? Twenty-four, feeding an 18.375-inch tailshaft, a pairing shared with a few other Mopar-pattern units in this catalog.
