Details & Inspection Notes
A remanufactured four-speed automatic drilled to the Chevy bellhousing pattern, this unit is set up for select 4WD applications using a bolt-on bellhousing, part 24206952. A Corvette-style servo and a street performance valve body go in during the rebuild, aimed at crisper, more responsive shifts than a stock-spec replacement would give you.
Check fitment first
Confirm your 4WD setup actually uses the bolt-on bellhousing this case is drilled for before ordering. Thirty splines carry the input shaft and first gear comes in at 3.06:1. Gray describes the aluminum case finish; a polished aluminum pan in a stock-style profile handles the bottom end, with output riding on a slip-on yoke.
Inside the rebuild
Fresh bushings, seals, thrust washers, high-energy bands, and clutch packs go in during the rebuild, along with a hardened sunshell and a rebuilt front pump for added strength. On the other side of the ledger, this unit doesn't ship with a torque converter, flexplate, controller, or wiring harness, and the cooler and fluid are left out too. It is lockup compatible once wired to the right controller, and each unit is dyno tested before it ships, sold individually. Have your bellhousing and bolt-on hardware on hand before install day so the swap goes in one session rather than two.
Does this include a torque converter? No, source one separately to match your stall speed needs. Can I run this in a 2WD car? It's built around the 4WD bolt-on bellhousing pattern, so confirm compatibility with your drivetrain before buying.
