Details & Inspection Notes
Known in circle track circles as a "602 crate," this CT350 is a 350 cubic-inch, IMCA-sealed small-block Chevy rated at 350 horsepower at 5,000 RPM and 390 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 RPM, built on a new four-bolt-main block with 9.12:1 compression, GM iron Vortec heads, and a forged-steel crankshaft.
Delivered complete
This engine ships essentially intake-to-pan: a dual-plane, high-rise aluminum intake, an 8-quart oil pan, steel valve covers with breathers, an 8-inch harmonic balancer, and an HEI distributor are all in place, with hypereutectic pistons and a hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft inside. Neither a flywheel nor a water pump is part of the package, and the complete engine weighs 434 lbs as delivered.
Rules and use
IMCA-issued bolts seal the engine from the factory, and it carries IMCA approval; racers commonly campaign it in classes such as Street Stock, Truck, Sport Modified, Factory Stock, or Hobby Stock, so check your own track's rules before entering it. Because this is sold as an engine-change part rather than a direct OEM replacement, installers must follow applicable state and federal rules for engine swaps, including California's BAR engine-change policy, when putting it into a street vehicle.
Common questions
What's the maximum RPM? Speedway lists a maximum of 5,500 RPM for this engine.
Is a water pump included? No; a water pump and a flywheel both have to be sourced on your own.
What heads does it use? Cast-iron GM Vortec heads with 1.94-inch intake and 1.5-inch exhaust valves.
